Richmond Community Rowing

Following in the steps of areas like Pittsburgh, Boston, New York and Hampton roads, Richmond Community Rowing (RCR) is a community of rowing and watersport with a boathouse open to Richmond residents of all ages and ability. By creating strong youth, para and adult rowing in the area, RCR will connect the city of Richmond with one of its greatest assets, the James River.
Connecting RVA with the river
Our goal is to expose the Richmond community to all levels of rowing and watersport without regard to individual ability, background or experience.
Using sport for good
A community boathouse will provide the facilities needed to grow rowing in the lower James River and permit the expansion of community outreach programs to help keep RVA active.
Creating Opportunity
Rowing has enormous opportunity at the NCAA level with scholarships to D1-3 rowing program. The national women’s team for the US is one of greatest dynasties in international athletics.
Program Hours

RCR sponsors several rowing programs for all types of athletes with the goal of creating opportunity for all Richmond residents to train, compete and get involved.
